A more conventional procedure avoids Cohn Fraction I contaminants and uses Cohn Fraction II, III paste solution as starting material. Human IgG is routinely obtained in about 98% purity in yields greater than 75% to 80%. This is a considerable improvement over reported commercial manufacturing processes involving a combination of several chromatographic steps beyond Cohn II, III paste solution.
